I remember back in the Avatar days… the typical fanart we would get would be a charming, childish crayon drawing stuffed in an envelope. Nowadays on Korra, I take a skewed screenshot with my phone, post it, and shortly thereafter someone un-skews it, crops it, separates the character levels, clones the background, “Ken Burns” it with a multilevel slide, animates the characters blinking and talking, tints it, and makes a GIF out of it, that I then see on the same phone with which I took the original picture. Times they are a-changin’…

P.S. In case it is unclear, I’m not upset, I’m just amused and amazed.

EDIT: Wait, I got it! A more appropriate classification for this: not fan art, but a fan retake.

Now that I know what kinda witchcraft @Climbingonroofs can do with some editing I was totally not surprised another fan took the screenshot and edited it like this. KIND OF AMAZING.

Hot off the presses from ImageWizards.net: Three glossy metal prints of my art with frame-to-edge mounting that I am donating as prizes to PixelDrip Gallery’s “I’m the Art Show, Deal With It” Korra fanart event this weekend at Monk Space. *Ugly office carpet not included.* I’m really looking forward to the event and seeing all the great art and meeting the artists!

Holy shit you guys…the Avatar/Korra panel at Momocon yesterday was so awesome. Steve Blum, Sifu Kisu, and Sifu Rodriguez (consultant for Toph) was there. Everyone had great questions (except for the one girl who just HAD to ask for autographs…), and we “learned” a few things coming up. (I put learn in quotations because it was hinted at and never really said.)

Firstly, we’re gonna be getting a sub-bending form of airbending! Kisu said it was going to blow our minds. MY MIND IS READY TO BE BLOWN. Also, he totally knows who Lin’s daddy is, but he was tight-lipped, so we’re gonna find out soon enough I’m sure. Then when someone asked about who they would cast in a Korra movie, Sifu refused to say anything and he said we’d see why later…I’m not sure how I’d feel about a Korra movie. Steve said he wouldn’t want one done.

Adriana aka tinysaurus was there! She gave Steve a CD of all the Disney songs she’s modified to make Korra themed. She was literally tiny and cosplaying as Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service. So cute!

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THIS LOL. I was looking around for some watercolor paper and found this from a while ago! It’s kind of sad that I never finished it, but I think I’ll finish it up in between working on AP Art pieces and sell the original or some prints on Etsy or something :>
